KRISTA WILSON
Krista Wilson is one of our expert wedding coordinators and a vital part of our "Core Four" management + leadership team.
Caring and organized, Krista makes everyone feel welcome and cared for. She is very detailed and thorough and completes our wacky team with her playful energy, humor, and smarts!
MEGAN YORK
Megan is one of our incredible coordinators and is also a vital part of our "Core Four" management + leadership team.
She is a former elementary school teacher so she has the skills to wrangle a group and make sure everyone is having a great time! She works on our First Friday events and special events at our spaces and is our resident graphic design guru.
KRISTEN BUSHMOYER
In addition to being co-owner of Cakewalk Events, Kristen is a wedding coordinating master. Kristen has run hundreds of weddings and receptions and is the best Emcee is KC!
She is also a major player in our "Core Four" ensemble. To add to her long list of Cakewalk duties, Kristen runs our First Friday events with Megan York, she leads most of our client meetings, as well as building packages and doing all the behind the scenes administrative work and covers all those little details that make an event run perfectly.
AMY RIZZO
Not just the co-owner of Cakewalk Events, Amy is often spotted coordinating weddings, meeting with couples, working at our reception and party events, and grilling hotdogs in the alley on First Fridays!
The final piece of the "Core Four" puzzle, Amy builds the Cakewalk website, helps build new packages and services, and keeps the whole ship running smoothly with her sidekicks, Kristen, Megan, and Krista!
MICKAELA BASS
Mickaela is one of new favorite coordinators!
Brought to us by our lovely Krista, Mickaela is a wife and mom of two adorable kids, and has joined Cakewalk to host events and coordinate weddings.
She is a total sweetheart and is always enthusiastic and thorough! She is also an expert balloon arch artist and can create amazing backdrops for your event.
JOE BENNETT
Oh, how we love Joe! Such a breath of fresh air to be around and always gives us a great feeling when he walks in the door to officiate! Joe has just the right combination of good natured dad humor and diligent get-down-to business-ness. (Is that a word?) We actually met Joe when his lovely wife used to coordinate weddings with us and we wrangled Joe into our web as well!!
KIM FENISON
Kim is a super mama and the sweetest, most mild-mannered person all around. She is so easy going and so warm and friendly, she makes our couples feel completely at ease. She brings such a serene vibe to our weddings. We love you, Kim!
SERGIO MORENO-DENTON
Meet Sergio, one of the kind-hearted people we are privileged to know and work with. Sergio has such warmth and a deep love for family which shines through all they do. Couples love Sergio’s sincerity and soft spoken manner. Sergio is a person of faith and intellect who (fun fact) grew up in Mexico and speaks both English and Spanish. Amazing human and friend!
SHANE RIZZO
Shane is all about personality and good times; he keeps the bar tidy, the drinks flowing, and the energy high.
A teacher, community leader, and avid gardener, he brings the same care and dedication to everything he does. He’s always helping his sister’s business grow, pitching in at Cakewalk Events with everything from contracting projects to bartending.
SEAN GRANTHAM
Sean is calm, steady, and always ready to take charge behind the bar, making every event feel smooth and effortless.
He works full time caring for adults with special needs, bringing kindness, patience, and heart to his everyday life. As part of the Cakewalk family tree, he jumps in to support his sister, owner Kristen Bushmoyer, and keeps the drinks flowing and the good vibes going.
JONATHAN SHARLOW
Meet Jonathan Sharlow!
Jonathan lives in Mission, KS with his family of 5 (his beautiful wife, Jillian; Emerson, 9; Rowan, 6; Evalie, 1). He enjoys spending time with his family, watching soccer (Go SPORTING!) and playing soccer with his boys!
Jonathan works with Cakewalk as a bartender for our reception events!

Since the fall of 1993, Bergamot & Ivy has been showcasing the world’s most beautiful flowers with innovative fresh floral designs for the home as well as special events and weddings.
Each and every design is influenced by a love of horticulture, gardening, and the natural world.

JACK STACK BARBECUE
Another Kansas City classic original that caters our reception buffets.
Jack Stack was started by Russ Fiorella in Kansas City back in 1957, Jack Stack began as a traditional storefront barbecue stand with a modest selection of five to six items. To stand out in the competitive Kansas City barbecue scene of the mid 1970s, Jack Fiorella and his wife, Delores, began cooking gourmet meats over hickory wood and created the most extensive barbecue menu in the country. Today, Jack Stack Barbecue is in its fourth generation of Fiorella family ownership and has evolved into the largest wood-fired cookery in the United States. We are so pleased to work with Jack Stack and offer their incredible food at our events!
MCLAIN'S BAKERY & CAKERY
McLain’s started in Waldo and is one of Kansas City’s oldest bakeries. Since 1945 they’ve been a family-owned establishment baking fresh pastries, birthday and wedding cakes, bread, cookies, and desserts!
They've been serving their loyal guests for over 75 years and take pride in being a space for Kansas Citians to gather and enjoy each other’s company.
In 2022, McLain's joined the team at Cakewalk to provide lunch, brunch, and CAKES for our party & reception packages.
THE BABY BIRD BAKERY
Owner and baker of Baby Bird Bakery, she trained at culinary school in Chicago and has been creating custom cakes and desserts since opening her bakery in 2017. When she’s not in the kitchen, she’s usually hanging out with her two senior cats, Olive and Pickles, playing bar trivia or retro video games with friends, sharing ridiculous TikToks, throwing pottery, tackling escape rooms, or planning her next adventure. A passionate traveler and thrill seeker, she’s always on the lookout for her next destination or roller coaster, and she loves bringing that same sense of fun and creativity to the cakes she makes for every celebration.
BLUSH FARMS CORK & BOARD
Blush Farms designs and creates charcuterie boards and boxes, especially for your event.
Each charcuterie is uniquely handcrafted and filled with artisan cheeses, cured meats, fresh and dried fruits and seasonal accompaniments. Ideal for so many occasions. Whether it’s a business meeting, a small wedding, a shower or birthday party, they have your grazing covered.
Located in Liberty, MO, Blush Farms started working with Cakewalk Events in 2023.
BRIDGET MURPHY
Bridget is a photographer and graphic designer who knows the importance of capturing moments in time. She has been a portrait photographer for over a decade, and has worked with Cakewalk since 2018. She always chooses to document her life through photos, and her ultimate goal is to extend this same heartfelt service to everyone she has the privilege of working with! Her family has called her "Bee" for many years, so Honeycomb Photo + Design is just an extension of her - collecting all the memories that are sweet like honey.

CHESSA RUETTGERS
Chessa is an adventure loving photographer with an eye for creativity and detail. She has perfected the “unposed” approach of photography and making people who are uncomfortable in front of the camera, more at ease. Her main priority during her time with you is to make you laugh and not take the day too seriously.
She has been taking photos for 13 years and has been with Cakewalk Events since 2019.
When she isn’t photographing a wedding day, she is spending time at home making memories with her husband and 2 small children.
