VENUE RENTAL BOOKING CALENDARS
Non-Prime-Time Rentals are great for all types of events, classes & long stays.
Prime Time Rentals are booked in blocks to accommodate certain types of events like weddings, showers, or dinner parties!

Located in the heart of historic downtown Liberty, The Cakewalk Chapel & Event Space offers an intimate, light-filled setting for weddings, elopements, and special celebrations. With soaring 12-foot arched windows, sheer drapery, and vintage art deco fixtures, the chapel’s 1920s charm is on full display—elegant yet cozy, with wood accents, warm candlelight, and soft velvet lounge seating perfect for photo ops and quiet moments alike.
Our expanded reception space adjoins the chapel for a seamless transition between ceremony and celebration. Whether you're hosting 70 guests for dinner and dancing or an intimate afternoon toast, this flexible layout offers a picture-perfect stage for your event. Bring in your own vendors or simplify with one of our curated packages—we’re here to make your day beautiful, whatever that looks like for you.

SEATING FOR 70 GUESTS
Our venue has a combination of sturdy wooden chairs and copper metal benches for seating your guests.
With standing guests included, we recommend this venue for between 60-70.

EVENT SETUP & CLEANUP
When you arrive, our clean, candlelit venue will be fully set up with tables and chairs arranged to your specifications.
The venue manager will greet you, walk you through the space, and show you how to use features like the lights and thermostat. Once you’re settled, they’ll leave you to enjoy the event—and return about 15 minutes before your rental ends to handle all the cleanup and close down the space.

PERSONALIZED CHALKBOARD & MESSAGE BOARD
We will customize our chalkboard and our changeable letter sign with your customized messages!

KITCHENETTE, BAR & DRINK CART
Our venue has a handy kitchenette with a fridge & freezer, sink, & counterspace.
In addition, we have a cool, full-sized wooden bar and a standing drink cooler for holding your drinks!
You bring the ice, drinks, and cups!
BYOB is allowed as well.

USE OF OUR SOUNDSYSTEM
Bring your own playlists on your device and connect to our booming stereo system to set the mood and keep the party going!

PRE-EVENT PLANNING
Your own personal planning portal will allow you to customize your event specifications and personalizations.
Our team of planners will be available to meet with you, answer questions, and advise on best practices for your event.

TONS OF REAL WAX CANDLES
There is just nothing like the warmth of real wax candles!
And we have more than 100 at our venue, so our place really glows when it's all lit up.

LIVE PLANTS, THOUGHTFUL DECOR, & PLENTY OF DISPLAY TABLES
Our venue is home to many thriving live plants which contributes to it's airy, natural feel.
We also have numerous tables for seating, food display, decor, gifts, and whatever other fun things you want to bring!

ACCESS TO PRIVATE BRIDAL SUITE
Whether you are having a wedding ceremony or not, the private bridal lounge offers a beautifully furnished extra space to use for staging, storage, or additional party space.

PARKING & WHEELCHAIR ACCESS, IN DOWNTOWN LIBERTY!
Our venue is located right across the street from a large parking lot which is available for our guests.
The wheelchair entrance is easy to access through our front door!

LIBERTY VENUE FAQs
GUEST COUNT:
There are a total of 70 seats for your guests. This number does not include anyone who will be in the ceremony, standing with the couple, vendors, or children who can sit on other's guests laps. We do recommend that you do not go over 80 total attendees as it does get crowded as you go over that number.
ADD A WEDDING OR PARTY PACKAGE TO YOUR RENTAL:

PETS:
We do not allow any pets in the venue for insurance reasons.
THROWN PETALS, BUBBLES & SPARKLERS:
We do not allow any thrown petals, real or fake. However, we do have a "Here Comes the Bride" sign your flower person is welcome to use. We also see a lot of folks have the flower person hand out long stem flowers to the guests sitting along the aisles as the walk down. Both super cute options since petals aren't an option. Bubbles are not allowed inside as they make the floor of the space like an ice rink! However, both bubbles and sparklers are welcome outside the venue. We have seen lots of adorable send offs with both.
OUTSIDE VENDORS:
You are welcome to bring your own vendors for your event. Please refer to your planning portal for specific time-related vendor services and activity restrictions.
EVENT START TIME:
All events will begin at the doors open time, which is the time on your reservation. If you would like to have some time to get set up in the space before guests arrive, we recommend that you tell guests a doors open time and a ceremony/event start time, so they know what time to arrive. You can give guests a time 30 minutes or so after your arrival so you have time to get settled before others start arriving.
PARKING:
Our huge parking lot is directly across the street from the venue on the corner of Prairie and Kansas.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY:
There is a wheelchair entrance through our main entrance.
OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINK:
Both food and drink (including alcohol) are allowed with all of our venue rentals with a few caveats. Please refer to your customer portal for specifics on your particular event for those details.
