COORDINATED CEREMONY & ALL-INCLUSIVE RECEPTION
CEREMONY STYLES
ABOUT YOUR CEREMONY:
Since we have several officiants who customize their own ceremonies, each of their scripts are a bit different. Because of that, we don't have specific, exact ceremony scripts to share. We do have general guidelines to our ceremonies so we can assure that all of the ceremonies our officiants perform follow the criteria outlined below.
We do encourage couples to customize the ceremony as much as they like, so we welcome any particular verbiage you would like to have said. You are also welcome to request specific readings, by the officiant or a guest, as well as add a sand ceremony or a unity candle or other type of additional ceremony.
Beyond that, if you would like, you are absolutely welcome to provide your own script & our officiant will read exactly what you provide.
We do not offer pre-meetings with our officiant. However, you may work with your pre-wedding planners to customize your ceremony to your heart's content. Your planners will pass on your preferences & specifications directly to them!
BRINGING YOUR OWN OFFICIANT:
You are welcome to work with & bring your own officiant to your ceremony & decline the use of ours. Folks do that all the time if they would like a bit more guidance with their ceremony or want pre-wedding counseling. Sometimes folks just have a special person in their lives that they want to officiate their big moment. All of that is just fine! You may simply indicate that preference in your planning portal.
WRITING YOUR OWN CEREMONY:
You may want the freedom to create your very own ceremony & we are happy to help you do that! Simply paste the verbiage of your ceremony right into the "Special Requests" section of your planning portal & our officiant will perform it just as you have written it.
LGBTQ WEDDINGS:
As you may know, both the Vow Exchange & Cakewalk Events are very LGBTQ friendly! We will work with you & your partner to coordinate your ceremony as you please. Whether you walk down the aisle together or one of you uses the "bridal" lounge while the other enters through the side door, we will make sure your wedding is as special as your love.
OUR STANDARD CEREMONIES:
Our officiants can perform one of our three standard ceremonies or one you create yourself!
Our standard ceremonies are our Civil Ceremony, our Spiritual Non-Denominational Ceremony, & our Christian Ceremony. All of our ceremonies center primarily on the couple & their love for one another. We respect both parties in the marriage equally & refrain from the use of antiquated phrases of marital ownership.
THE CIVIL CEREMONY:
This ceremony is romantic & couple centered. It includes an optional ring exchange, a legal vow exchange, a marriage inspired reading, as well as any added elements you choose, including personal vows. This ceremony does not have any religious or spiritual language.
THE SPIRITUAL NON-DENOMINATIONAL CEREMONY:
This ceremony is also romantic & couple centered. It will begin with a non-denominational prayer. It also includes an optional ring exchange, a legal vow exchange, a marriage inspired reading, as well as any added elements you choose, including personal vows. The major feature of this ceremony is that is DOES have religious & spiritual language. Specifically, this ceremony simply references "God" (not a particular deity or reference to "Christ").
THE CHRISTIAN CEREMONY:
Again, this ceremony is romantic & couple centered. It will begin with a Christian prayer. It also includes an optional ring exchange, a legal vow exchange, a marriage inspired reading, as well as any added elements you choose, including personal vows. The major feature of this ceremony is that it DOES have religious & spiritual language
& refers directly to Jesus Christ.
