WEDDING FOR 2 CEREMONY GUIDE
A GUIDE TO THE BIG DAY!
Ceremony Info
YOUR CEREMONY:
This ceremony is romantic & couple centered. It includes an optional ring exchange, a legal vow exchange, and a marriage inspired reading. This ceremony does not have any religious or spiritual language. Usually, the ceremony lasts about 5-10 minutes, much like a courthouse wedding! With this package, no customizations or additional special ceremonies are allowed.
YOUR OFFICIANT:
With this package, you must use our officiant and our civil ceremony.
When you arrive at the venue, your officiant will meet with you both to review your names & other ceremony specifics.
You will meet with your officiant separately in most cases, unless you are walking down the aisle together
(which more & more folks are doing these days!)
WHEN YOU ARRIVE:
When you arrive, your day-of coordinator will greet you in the bridal lounge.
(You can enter through the unlocked back entrance and go right in to the lounge).
While the bride is getting settled, guests will get settled in their seats.
WHERE TO STAND FOR THE CEREMONY:
Usually the "groom" stands at the front with the officiant and waits for the "bride" to walk down the aisle. Since we do have a lot of same sex couples, and times have changed a lot there is no rule on how to do this. Either person can stand at the front with the officiant or you can both walk down the aisle together!
You decide!
WALKING DOWN THE AISLE:
Once everyone is seated & your bridal party is lined up by the coordinator, your coordinator will play our classical entrance song.
(Sorry entrance and exit songs are not customizable with this package.)
Your coordinator will open the curtains & cue everyone down the aisle.
Once you get up to the altar at the front, your coordinator will fade the music so the ceremony can start.
NO REHEARSAL NEEDED:
No rehearsals are necessary. Your coordinator will show everyone where to go, what to do, & where to stand.
MARRIAGE LICENSE:
Your officiant will be sure to have your two witnesses sign your license
& then mail it in to the state to make it official!
You can obtain the wedding license at any Missouri county courthouse.
You must both go with 2 forms of ID, no more than 30 days
prior to your wedding.
Always check in with your county courthouse for their requirements,
but take a look here for Jackson County marriage license information:

ARRIVAL TIME:
You may arrive 15 minutes before your event start time. You and your guests may enter the building and await the ceremony start.
GUEST COUNT:
This package allows for the couple and 2 witnesses. Sometimes folks will opt to bring their children as their +2, but keep in mind that your witnesses need to be at least 18 years of age. In that case, you may use our coordinator and your (or our) photographer as your witnesses.
PARKING:
Our parking lot is located at 1705 Oak Street. See the handy map to share with your guests HERE.
We strongly recommend that you remind your guests to NOT use GPS to locate our venue. Our official address will take them to the corner of 17th and McGee that does NOT have an entrance to our space.
In addition to our lot, there is plenty of street parking in the area. Our entrance is accessible by car in the alley. Feel free to drive up to our entrance in the alley to drop off any guests.
PETS:
We do not allow any pets in the venue for insurance reasons.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE:
There is a wheelchair entrance at the door just north of our main entrance.
THROWN PETALS, BUBBLES & SPARKLERS:
We do not allow any thrown petals, real or fake. However, we do have a "Here Comes the Bride" sign your flower person is welcome to use. We also see a lot of folks have the flower person hand out long stem flowers to the guests sitting along the aisles as the walk down. Both super cute options since petals aren't an option.
Bubbles are not allowed inside as they make the floor of the space like an ice rink! However, both bubbles and sparklers are welcome outside the venue. We have seen lots of adorable send offs with both.
OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINK:
Food is not recommended for a 30 minute event. On occasion, couples have brought cupcakes for all four attendees, but keep in mind that 30 minutes goes fast and will cut into your picture and ceremony time. You are also welcome to bring champagne for a quick toast, but each of these activities should be added with caution as the time for these events is strictly limited to 30 minutes.
